This high protein berry smoothie bowl is made with frozen berries, peanut butter, protein powder and yogurt for a delicious and sweet breakfast or snack.
This is meant to be a smoothie bowl and will be thicker than a typical smoothie. Pour it into a serving bowl, add your favorite fun toppings and eat with a spoon. Alternatively, you can add a bit more liquid and drink it! I love smoothie bowls in the summer and love alternating between this one and a green smoothie bowl for a nice, refreshingly cold 🧊 morning pick-me-up.

Ingredients and Substituions:
These are the main ingredients and substitutions for this berry smoothie bowl. See the recipe card below for the full ingredients list and instructions.

- Frozen Mixed Berries: I always use frozen fruit because it makes the smoothie bowl nice and cold. You can absolutely use fresh just be sure to freeze it first or make freeze packs with the other ingredients.
- Vanilla Protein Powder: I’m using PEScience gourmet vanilla, use code OHSNAP to save. It’s my favorite for smoothies because it blends nicely. Use your favorite powder that you know blends well and doesn’t get chalky.
- Peanut Butter: or almond butter.
- Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk: any and all milk works.
- Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt: this gives it the creamy consistency. You can use-full fat for extra thick smoothies.
Variations
- Add fresh berries or banana slices.
- For some crunch, add granola, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds or nuts.
- Add shredded coconut flakes, drizzled nut butter, low calorie peanut butter syrup or drizzled honey.
Dietary Modifications
- For dairy-free, use a dairy-free protein powder and dairy-free yogurt.
- This recipe is gluten-free, if using PEScience protein powder.

Recipe FAQs
This smoothie is best with PEScience Gourmet Vanilla. Use code OHSNAP to save.Â
I don’t suggest blending everything together until ready to enjoy. The consistency is best when made fresh on the spot.
Top with your favorite toppings like chopped kiwis, blueberries, granola, chia seeds and peanut butter.
You bet! I add the fruit (fresh or frozen!) and peanut butter to freezer-safe bags and freeze. When ready to enjoy, add the milk, yogurt and protein powder to a blender and make your smoothie bowl.
If using fresh berries I suggest you make freezer packs with them. The frozen berries are what contribute to the texture and nice cold smoothie bowl.
