Frozen yogurt bark is such a great little protein snack. Topping them with Kindling’s High Protein Pretzels just takes it to another level! Take high protein greek yogurt, add a little chocolate and whatever your favorite toppings are and freeze it for an hour or two and you have a frozen, delicious, high protein treat. I mean, it doesn’t get any better or easier!
Bark is one of my favorite batch-prep snacks. Browse more high protein snacks for the full list. If you want more cold treats, try these snickers bars, ice cream tacos or strawberry crunch cottage cheese bars.

Ingredients and Substitutions:
These are the main ingredients and substitutions for this protein frozen yogurt bark. See the recipe card below for the full ingredient list and instructions.

- Non-Fat Greek Yogurt: I used 0% but you can use 2% or 5% for a richer bark. You can also play with flavors, vanilla being a fan favorite in my house.
- Vanilla Protein Powder: I like usig PEScience Gourmet Vanilla or Chocolate Truffle. Use code OHSNAP to save.
- Honey: or pure maple syrup to sweeten. This is purely optional but helps if your protein powder isn’t sweet enough.
- Kindlings Churro Protein Pretzels: any type of pretzel but these protein pretzels are great.
- Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips: bittersweet or milk chocolate. This depends on how sweet you like your chocolate.
- Coconut Oil: this gets mixed with the chocolate chips to create a rich creamy layer that hardens.
Variations
- Toppings for days, my friends: sprinkles, chopped peanuts, shredded coconut, slivered almonds, etc.
- I love adding my peanut butter syrup during the second freeze too to switch it up!
Dietary Modifications
- For gluten-free, use gluten-free pretzels, chocolate chips and any toppings.
- For dairy-free, use a dairy-free yogurt and dairy-free chocolate chips.
How to make this Protein Frozen Yogurt Bark (a step-by-step visual guide):
Step 1: make yogurt bark base
In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and protein powder until you have a frosting-like consistency (image 1). Taste and add honey if needed to sweeten, this will vary based on the type of protein your using (image 2).

Step 2: add base to baking sheet
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, I like to use a half sheet and make the yogurt layer thick. Spread the yogurt mixture on the parchment paper (image 3). Top the yogurt with the pretzels, either whole of broken into pieces and place in the freezer for at least one hour to harden (image 4).

Step 3: add the chocolate layer and toppings
Once the yogurt layer is hard, add the chocolate chips and coconut oil to a small bowl and microwave in 15 second intervals, stirring each time until fully melted and combined (image 5). Spread over the yogurt and pretzel layer (image 6). Add your favorite toppings (image 7) and return to the freezer to harder for another 30-60 minutes (image 8). Here we have two topping ideas pictured! When ready to enjoy, remove from the freezer, break into pieces and enjoy. I typically break this into 6 large chunks which is reflected in the nutrition information.
